Highway Design

You said you wanted highways, we said ..”OK”, no matter how big or small, we enjoy them all.

When you get down to it Highways design is all about 3 things, knowing the standards, applying them with common sense and knowing the approving authority.

The members of IPaD have been involved in designing highways for over 20 years, and as such have been involved with almost every conceivable highway issue. They have worked through the many changes in the design legislation and are comfortable using the different guides and advice notes.
 
Richard, Steve and Nigel served their early years in Local Government working in the Engineering Departments, undertaking roles in Development Control, Maintenance and Capital works. All three then moved to Consulting firms (where they met Nick), all have been designing carriageways of all scale ever since.  Richard’s specialty is Major Trunk Road design and has many links with the Highways Agency.  Nigel Specialises in the design of Local development infrastructure for both residential and Industrial premises. And Steve covers both areas, but would probably say he is a Junction design specialist.
